Empowerment Conversations September 2018

Sunday, 07 October 2018 by kdallasgoode

What is it that you envision? What dreams do you have? Is there a dream so big, so unattainable that you will not let go off its possibility, because you believe in its reality? Dreaming is a beautiful vision of something(s) you want to achieve. Believing in that dream is the most important and tedious part of the task because being hopeful of what you cannot see is like a roller coaster emotion of doubt, fear, what ifs and maybes. However, when you believe something, you have to complement that belief with solid and consistent action(s). That action(s) means a concerted and disciplined movement to be mentally in tune with your dreams, physically ready to cease opportunities and emotionally fit to be self aware of what drives you.

Empowerment Conversations August 2018

Do you know what it is to fight a battle? I am sure you do! But are you even aware that you are in a daily warfare? Truth be told, we are all in a battle of some kind. Whether it is a clash of thoughts, a struggle of actions, or a confrontation of good and evil, everyday we experience some kind of push and pull. The good thing is we are blessed with the gift of life initiated by waking up to God’s new mercies that comes with a brand new day, but we often times forget this privilege. Instead we greet the day with the battle of our thoughts, we fight to think meaningfully, we struggle to positively affirm ourselves and we spew complaints that distort our peace. Fact is, when the mind is in a constant battle corrupted by anxiety, doubt and fear our gateway to goodness is blocked by the threat of the warfare that is in our head. This is completely normal! However don’t think this normalcy is sustainable. No way!

Empowerment Conversations July 2018

“A promise is a comfort to a fool” as the old proverb dissuades the excitement of a promise, we, as humans can’t help but love to be promised something especially when we want it – inexplicably – bad. To hold on to a promise that comforts us and gives us hope means that we undoubtedly trust the promisor. Trust is not easy when intertwined with patience. That’s because “good things come to those that wait” but who really wants to sit in limbo? Often times when we are told to trust God and hold on to His promises (as outlined in the bible) we shrug at the idea because again our human eye prefers to operate by sight. We’d rather believe what someone says than what the Father promises. Time after time we discover that no man’s promise is sure, no man’s promise is perfect and no man’s promise will totally satisfy. And so … God is the answer. Trust in Jesus, you’ll be happy when you accept – not my will but His way!

Empowerment Conversations June 2018

Have you ever felt like you’re fighting a losing battle? Are you on the brink of breaking? Or are you impatiently blinking for a breakthrough? Either way many times as you go through the bumps and bruises of life, you tend to feel an overwhelming emotion that God must have forgotten you! In your mind, it just seems like your prayers didn’t even reach to God’s ears, instead they have flown over Him. No way! Best believe that He is omnipotent and omnipresent! It’s funny how He knows what we want and when we want it, the tricky part is that we are (most times) over fighting and over exhausting ourselves and then become very distracted. Delay does NOT mean denial. God isn’t seemingly ignoring you to ill- treat you, He is actually waiting for the right moment (which is not defined by your timeline) to ignite your best self for His kingdom.

Empowerment Conversations May 2018

As humans – one thing is absolutely sure – we all have different characteristics, thoughts, methods of operating, ideas of living and philosophies about life itself. In a similar way our individual perspectives can make or break us within our struggles, pain and problems that we face ever so often. It’s so interesting to observe how two or more persons can look at the same painting and conclude surprisingly separate explanations of its meaning. That’s the sheer essence of perspective – the way we see situations whether good or bad reflects our point of view. We all have situations that are negatively mind blowing and physically draining. It may not change overnight or in the blink of an eye, but our outlook can! We have to know what situations and/or circumstances we can work with and which ones we are willing to walk away from. Then truthfully ask yourself – WHY?

Empowerment Conversations April 2018

Sun-light is very powerful, it is said to be able to light up the ocean up to 80 meters. Darkness, on the other hand, blocks the light from the sun and forms a shadow. Who wants to be associated with the gloom of darkness when the radiance of light is so dominant and effective.

Is there a light inside of you? Do you feel like the outer darkness of life influenced by harsh realities are dimming your light? How can you keep your light blazing even when everything seems to be hopelessly dark around you? Darkness dampens your hopes of making possibilities visible. Light brightens your path to victory. When you experience the love of God through Jesus Christ, you will have light even in your darkest hour(s).

Do you want to be a potent illuminator or just a mere shadow?

Empowerment Conversations March 2018

They say encouragement sweetens labour in the same way wouldn’t visibility would sweeten our faith. Oh yes! Absolutely!
Imagine this – two hot cups of tea, one with sugar and the other without. Then picture someone who despises the idea of drinking tea but have to, his or her encouragement or motivation for gulping down that tea is knowing that the sweetener would give it a more appealing taste. Now `picture someone who loves tea but has to drink it to help with some sickness, after constant drinking nothing much happens. In this case the avid tea drinker would be encouraged by some positive proof that their labour will not fail.
Both scenarios exemplify some amount of failure and require a lot of faith. Increased faith means failure is imminent but your growth is consistent.

Empowerment Conversations February 2018

Saturday, 22 August 2015 by kdallasgoode

While your purpose, sometimes, may be clear in your mind, the process is what can be daunting! Everybody wants to get to the mountain top, but dread the climb.
Why?! Why?!
That’s because the process (of gaining anything) requires so much more out of us than the achievement of the PURPOSE itself. The strongest yet hardest characteristic that hovers over us is PATIENCE! Whether we like it or not, we have to wait. Waiting erupts a volcano of emotions that range from:

§ Happiness to know that we have discovered our purpose;
§ Expectation of the best outcome;
§ Disruption fuelled by unpredictable disappointments;
§ Anger due to impatience and uncertainty
§ Fluctuating faith because of what cannot be seen as it is perceived

in the mind.
The beauty of the process is, it manifests the true substance of the purpose. The moment you recognize the lessons of each experience (good or bad) connected to the process, is the point in your personal growth that you will discover – mental muscle. It has to be strengthened with positive dumbbells consistently pumping tenacity and push into your being so that anger and frustration will not derail or demotivate your ability to reach your destination – the purpose.
When you recognize your purpose, pay attention to the hills and valleys of the process so that your attitude will not stunt your progress towards your purpose. You cannot accomplish the purpose without going through the process. True faith is praising God while you are heading to the destination (your purpose) because it is, indeed, easier to praise God when you get what you have always wanted. Don’t allow bitter to overwhelm better; don’t let anger prevail over wisdom. God’s will must be fulfilled in your life. Pay attention to the Process!

Empowerment Conversations January 2018

Friday, 21 August 2015 by kdallasgoode

A dream starts with a vision, a hope and a desire to materialize that which you cannot yet touch. You cannot want it and not even wish for it! The moment when you realize that you have a God given purpose and/or talent start step one. PRAY without ceasing! Dedicate some solid time to prayer, seek out God’s guidance and direction, tap into the quiet moments of your heart so that you can listen to yourself wanting to succeed; so that you can ‘put some pep’ in your steps to create the success that you crave; that success which seems unattainable which really is within reach, if you pray with grit, and without ceasing.

Communing with God creates clarity so that He will order your steps, instead of being victimized and distracted by everybody else’s dreams for you, focus on your forward flow. Do not refuse to fight with prayer, fight means stand up and challenge God, challenge Him to fulfill His promises in you. You have to own your prayer! Let your requests be made known to God and allow Him direct you. When you become inexplicably tired of waiting, pray some more, when you become tired of praying stay committed to the promise that God will make a way! Hold on! The right time, the right opportunity and the right attitude to receive your breakthrough will
come! Be tough to wait and watch how you act while waiting.
